Regarding Nitrates

I have a few plants in my Tank,
the amazon sword seems to being doing bad I have three of them,

I have roughley 7ppm on my nitrates is it best to keep it at about 20ppm so they have more nutrients?
Is it possible to have to little nitrates?

I only have 5 fish in my tank, Dont plan to buy any soon because Im going to get more knowledge on plants and saving for my Overtank Illuminare and co2

Amazon swords are greedy root feeders.

Try popping in some root tabs. Whilst seeing if they do the trick you can read up on nitrate, phospate, potasium ,and trace elements
