Regal Tang Help!

Hey All, i purchased a regal tang today, a small one, itlooked a bit still in the LFS so i said it didnt look too healthy and she said that its a shy fish, but since its been in my tank its spent some time resting on the floor, and when its swimming it looks like its got a ich and speeds in diff directions..?

You might have purchased a problem fish as they can be whitespot magnets if they get stressed.

However, its behaviour doesnt sound out of the ordinary. They will lie on their sides to make predators think the are dead and they are also extremly fast swimmers so the fact that its darting around seem about right especially as its probably stressed in a new home.

when i got my regal he looked fine in the lfs. but w/in a day of putting him in my tank he started looking really bad. he sat still on the bottom and at one point i even thought he wuz dead. i went to fish him out and as soon as i got close he bolted off. after a few days though he started appearing normal and now he's great. i wouldn't worry about it too much unless you got some big fish in there stressing him out
