My own little world inside my head.
If I were to ever move up to larger size aquariums, and salt water I want a Dory to put in it.

What are the Minimum requirements for keeping a Regal Blue Tang?
And with the tank size they need what can live in it with them?

I have never had a salt water tank before, or anything over 20 gallons. Are they a lot of Work? Any more than fresh water?

regal tang imo need a 6 foot tank possibly more, they obtain a good size and swim alot.

Yeah, I read a 75 gallon is the smallest you should go with them.
I have never had any big fish before. I'd love to get a 100 gallon, but I dont think I could ever afford one.
That is a lot of water.

Tank you.

Just watch the classifieds. If you have the time and patience, you could possibly find some really good deals. Just watch, be patient and collect parts as you find them :)

Yeah I would agree a 6footer (100g or more) would be ideal. I 5ft tank IMO is the smallest you could go for.

With this fish and that size of tank you have a massive selection of livestock you could have.

Would totally agree with watching the classified ads. I have seen some amazing bargins on there (including 5ft tanks going free if people can pick them up).

Saltwater tanks are generally more work than your average FW tank, however I would say that the basic reef setup I have now is actually a lot LESS work then the high tech planted tank I had.

I'll further the reccomendation to watch the classifieds. You never know what'll turn up. Remember, a freshwater tank is the same as a saltwater tank, they're both made from the same glass ;)

I personally would like to see what evidence/statistics people have for the "at least 5/6 foot tank" claim. Honestly it would appear these fish need more space everytime I visit the forum.

well i judge it on isabella the regal at work (may of got bored and named some fish), watching her swim up and down a 6 1/2 foot is nice but still seems to small given her size and activity levels!

thats not really very much on stats but meh, stats are effort for now.
