i was just browsing tropical fish finder and saw these for sale at wildwoods and they grabbed me and i want 1

but i cant find anything thats very concrete about them on the net, how big do they grow? how big a tank do they require? i can pretty much guess they need a meaty diet there mouth kinda gives this away!!

figured it wouldn't hurt to ask you never knwo where i can fit another tank  :good:

In captivity 8" is a good size and 6" would be average, a 36x12x15" tank would be ample for one on its own. As with all wolf fish tankmates are hit and miss, they dont play nice with others and damage can be done quickly should they decide they no longer want to share a tank, naturally any fish that is less than half their size will be eaten on sight. The usual captive predator diet of prawns mussels and small frozen fish will be readily accepted.

25cm is a good size, 20cm is more likely. A 80cm long or 90cm is fine in the long run. No tankmates can really be with them, maby a well armoured plec would be ok. Personally I woudebt risk it.
They are nice fish though, even if a snakehead is nicer imo!

thanks for help :good:

now to see where i can fit another 3ft tank
