Hi, Everytime i try to keep sword tails they always die on me. I never had any luck with them. I was wandering wat the secret is to keeping them: water paremeter, temp, foods and nutritions. I just got 3 of them to add to my 125 community tank n it is completely covered so i dont have to worry about them jumping out of my tank this time. The temp is 76 n a ph of 7.2. Thanks for the help.

I think the secret is getting healthy ones to start with. Not always an easy task. I spend substantial amounts of time checking every single swordie in a tank for any signs of problems before I'll buy any. Fungus has been a real problem at all the LFS's around me lately.

Same as been said it's getting them in good health in the first place, try not to add any lfs water to your tank if you can, that's if you can't issolate them for a few weeks, good diet and excellent water quality is the key to keeping fish.

thanx everyone for the tips. I could not Q them so i took a chance and added them to the main tank. I poured most of the water out of the bag b4 i put the rest into the tank.
