Red Spot On Adf's Tail?

You LFS associate is right, it doesnt sound like redleg. Redleg is a highly infectious disease in amphibians and your other ADF would definitely be on it's way out or already dead if it was redleg. good news on that point.

In the first pic it almost looks like his cloaca (botty!) may be the offending red patch. Is it possible that he had a prolapse?

I have no idea. It was more than one spot, so I sort of doubt it. Perhaps you could explain it to me?

Mr. Short is doing well. She seems happy to be by herself, and was swimming around with my fish earlier. No spots, no odd bits, nothing. So I'm sure now that it wasn't redleg. I did a 50% water change anyway, since my nitrates were a bit high last night, and they're fine now. So thankfully, my remaining ADF looks like she'll be sticking around longer than Mr. Tall did.
