Okay...Now I have been watching this fish at the pet store for about 3 weeks now and he is still there. They reduced him from $49 to $36. He is at least 6" in length.Poor thing is cooped up in this little tank. I WANT to go get him but I recently transferred my fish to a 75 gal. tank. Even though I transferred media I am having a mini-cycle. My nitrite was up to 1.0 and ammonia .25 but has since dropped to zero ammonia and .25 nitrite. Do ya think it would be dangerous for me to add him with still a reading of .25 nitrite ? Another concern is I see some splits in his tail fin. No rot but some splits. He looks very healthy otherwise. Why would they be split ?

I have 8 danios, a pictus catfish, and an oplaine gourami in there at the moment.

Thanks !

i've heard of albino, gold, and green severums, but not red severums. i'm afraid you can't add him to your tank until the nitrite reads 0 (nitrites are more dangerous to fish than ammonia iirc).

Yeah I thought it was a green but noticed today it said red on the sign. They pretty much look the same. My water stats are getting better daily so hopefully he will still be there. I was worried about may gourmai as they are sensitive but she seemed unaffected by the water spike. I am using Prime which probably helped. Any thoughts on the splitting of the tail fin Y'all ?
