Red Plants

Just been reading around and there seems to be more to the 'Variable' and it does seem to include red. I was just wonering whether Tropica have the rights on crypts as they do other plants? or whether the likes of Aquafleur can produce new 'Var' of plants?

Noone has the right to the plants. All they can do is discover a new one and they get to name it.

There are some shops selling 10+ varieties of Wendtii. I will bet that many of those are the same for example:

You saw my brown in the tank earlier.

These are browns and greens I used to grow emersed but I could now sell them as Wendtii 'var rainbow'

Tropica produce and sell 4 different varieties which are all actually different as detailed earlier.

Aquafleur only produce and sell 2 varieties: Green and brown. both different

I would tend to think that if all the others with 'de witt' and 'rose' and 'red' were real, then Tropica would more than likely produce and sell at least one of them

Its one of those 'grey' areas just as sucking loach may be used as a descriptive to sell plecs, CAEs and Otos in different shops.

In that case it is the same name but different fish.

I read somewhere that Tropica do have the sole right to propergate 'Wendelov'.

Its true they have some rights on Windelov and Tropica ferns. some say they have control over propogation and distrubution of these plants.

However you may notice that Aquafleur sell Windelov. Funny thing is it is called Windelov R

So if I can't sell a plant called X, then I'll call it Y and then I can sell it

theyre nice rainbows!

mine is a bit redder than in my pic above, not quite as brown, but i would defo say the colour is more brown than red. what its called? dont care tbh lol

Exactly Show me a stem and ask me to ID it. I'll tell you its a stem

I'm not so good on most plants. I only know Crypts, anubias and ferns plus a select few others

I LOVE THOSE!!! Do you sell those? How did you get them to look like that? Have you seen the "Florida Sunset" Wendtii? I tried getting my LFS to order this, but I guess it never came in or something
