So my red plants are growing quickly, But the new growth is green. What turns them red?

High light and plenty of iron in their diet

I have light high, I donno about the iron though. But I did start dosing marco ferts.

Its also a lot to do with CO2 in the water, good CO2 levels help hugely.

Steve is correct, you can put all the light in the world over a red plant and it will go green. These plants are grown emmersed with an ambient c02 of around 300ppm and go red...we then stick em in a tank and expect them to stay red, with an ambient c02 of around 5ppm. Get the co2 right and add some iron and they should come back to life.

Hi techen...what lights do you have on your tank, looks similar to mine...and I'm interested in red plants myself...
