Hey all,
Am back in the tropical aquarium game again after a few years away..
Got 6 Red Phantom's today and have just noticed that 2 of them have got a split dorsal fin and one of those has a white spot half way down the dorsal too.. I know the females get the white tip, but this is definitely looking like a white spot and not the general markings due to the position of said spot.
Was just wondering if anyone knew if this was normal with the fin splitting and what was best to do with the white spot?? When I started tank up in Feb had some neon's, but lost them all due to white spot, even though was treating under guidance of fish shop.
These new phantoms are from a different lfs. I'm concerned that history will repeat itself and that I have again purchased damaged and diseased fish? Should I remove the fish with the ominous white spot in an attempt to save the others?
Are all tetras that are mass produced weak fish? I'm regretting getting another version of tetras as I said never again after the first episode.
Many thanks for all your help and am looking forward to your knowledgable feedback
