hi, everyone.
last week i bought a pair of red honey gourami to get rid of the mosquito larva in my tank.
I thought both of them are males as both of them have bright red orange color.
after a few days, i noticed that the bigger male became territorial and is occasionally chasing the smaller one. i also noticed the bigger one was building a bubble nest on the side of the tank and on the synthetic wool on the side of the tank (which was actually intended for midges to produce blood worms). i thought this is just a natural behavior for a male in breeding condition even without a female partner.
but last night, i saw some 1-mm sized tadpole-like organisms moving along the bubble nest and today they are almost 2 mm.
I know i should remove the female?
But when should i remove the the male? They are 2 days old now.
Here they are:
