Red Flame Dwarf Gourami

Hey everyone I hope you all had a good Christmas. I have a question about my dwarf gouramis. Awhile ago I got some dwarf gouramis 1 male 1 female, a few weeks later the female shot up in size so I thought she had eggs inside of her. It the male was trying to build a bubblenest but then about 2 or 3 days later he died . So the female had nowhere to put her eggs in. Only the males build bubblenests right? SO a few days ago I got a male dwarf gourami. The female is still looking like she has eggs in her, do you think this male will build a bubblenest for her? Or what is going on?

All fish want to do is eat and breed, so chances are it will. This might take time, however.
