I have a 40 gallon long tank with 3 bosemani 6 neon rainbow fish as well as some bottom feeders, i have lots of colour in the tank but nothing red, can anyone suggest a peaceful red fish that would go with my stock and i ahve already ruled out red rainbows as i dont really have room for another 2-3 4 inch fish. any suggestion but cherry barbs would be great

i have rummy nose and cardinal tetras in my tank with my 3 bosemanis (gonna get a few more actually) No problems at all. Just have to make sure you feed enough that the rainbows cant scoop it all. Mine fly all over the tank for food on the surface. But if i crush a few pinches of flakes like 6 inches under the surface, the tetras come and get their share.

a small group of maybe 5 rummy nose would be ok, its certainly a possibility, any other suggestions?

i am considering maybe ditching the red idea and getting some hatchlets, hmmm a dilema

My bows (M.Affinis, blue) share the tank with Odessa Barbs (the males are Very red).

what about an orange gourami? Dwarfs and honey gouramis have nice orange colours, or does it have to be red-red?

Other orange fish are platies and swordtails, but then you are in for some fry..... What about ember tetras? They also have a very nice reddish colour.
