Red Fire Gourami Help!

I have a red fire gourami who appears to be very sick. He is showing signs of blue appearing by his mouth. He is not really swimming, but will swim if you come near him. He also has a little bump on the side of him. A worker at the pet store first thought he swallowed a snail. Now, she is saying it could possibly be a fungus or something growing inside of him! If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated. The fish has been like this for a few days now.

What are your water stats, ammonia/nitrite/nitrate? Have you cycled your tank? How long have you had him and how big is your tank? What other fish are in the tank? You gotta give us much more information to give you a diagnosis. But I will say the worker at your LFS probably doesn't know very much about fish, so don't believe everything they tell you.

She was not 100% sure and a fish expert was not in today.
The water levels are good. The whole tank was cycled about a week and a half ago. This fish is almost a year old. The tank is a 20 gallon. Other fish in the tank consist of a dwarf gourami, a gold gourami, a blue spotted gourami, black molly, creamsicle molly, silver molly, mickey platys, swordtail, and lamp eye tetras.
Everyone else appears to be fine. I removed most of the snails from the tank.
