Red Eye

I have noticed this in all my gouramis, especially my Gold gourami. The ring around his eyes are fire red. I dont know if I should worry about this or not.
Comments?

I've noticed alittle of this in my others but nothing as dark.

Is he just really old, and on his death bed?

A bright red eye rim is prefectly normal in golden three-spots. Other three-spots also often have a faint orange highlight around their eye and also around the throat area and the fins. Also, three-spots can live to be over 7 years old; I doubt he's on his 'death bed'.

But he didn't have this when I bought him. Does it go from white or very dim red to very dark(Like blood) red in 4-5 months?
