Tank dimensions: 3' long by 1'wide by 18"tall.
Current residents: 4 zebra danios, 1 longfin blue danio, 5 corydoras catfish, 1 BN Pleco.
I would like some sort of nice looking tetra, and I saw some beautiful red eye tetras and columbian tetras. Which do you think would be best?

To be honest I would go with the columbian tetras, I have both species and find the columbians a lot more placid than the red eyes. And I think the columbian tetras look nicer in a shoal.

Ive had both and I think coloombians are more placid, lively and extrovert than red eyeys which i found to be a bit nippy.Hope this helps

Hi,
I had the same predicament and inthe end went with a shoalof 6 red eyes. They were a bit nippy against my 2 guppies which i then moved to another tank at the beginning but have had no problems since with them nipping. My rainbows shoal with them. I find the red eyes very nerves/timid fish compaired to their other occupants (silver sharks, rams, cories, otos, harlequin rasboras and various smaller tetras) who are all quite "tame-ish".
