Red Eye Koi

has anyone owned one of these? they have a few at my lfs and the wife loves them and wants one in our tank but cant seem to find any info on them.......

if its a koi as in pond fish/carp then it wont be suitable. they need about 250 uk gallons per fish.

if its another type im not sure as i havent heard of it before.

it was about 1.5 inches long ish bright orange head and tail/ back end and white in the middle, it was in the tropical section named "red eye koi" never seen one anywhere else but doesnt look anything like the pond koi karp more like a swordtail or something i think.....

Was it perhaps a Redcap Oranda ?

no nothing like them, it was quite a long thin fish not a short dumpy type

albino koi swordtail google it, they look great and the orange was really bright almost illuminous....... so now we know what they are, does anyone know anything about them?

Ahh, it's just a colour morph of the swordtail fish. In the same way you find 'Mickey mouse platies', they're just normal platies that have been seletively bred to give the mickey mouse head pattern on the tail.
So treat it as you would any other swordtail.
