ok does this seem od i have a reddevil bout 7-8" in a tank with a pacu large
well she started cleaning a rock and today i noticed she has laid eggs? they could not breed could they? and if not why would she lay eggs?

No, i dought they wopuld breed. If they did, off spring would be deformed or wouldnt survive long.

many fish and reptiles can store sperm for years.

One Boa-constricta in my cities zoo stored sperm and produced eggs and eventually hatched some babies. And her last contact between her and a male was something like 14 yrs ago. They just "KNoW" when to lay and have babies.

Many fish just lay eggs. But nithout a mate present.

I've heard of two female fish laying eggs by themselves, perhaps they just get the urge to do it. Did you see the pacu do anything, or is he gaurding at all?

why do you say the offspring would be deformed or wouldn't live?

even if it lays eggs i doubt they would get firtilized

A friend of mine , who has done scientific research using mostly platies , told me platies , guppies [other related species ] the females can hold the sperm for extended periods of time , as a means of survival , he believes .

Don't know if this is possible with egg laying fish , I believe it's possible for a lone female to lay eggs , I had a [ bird ] cockatiel that would lay eggs on a regular basis , once she reached a center point in her developement , I guess .

I don't think it's likely to have a cross between a pacu and a cichlid though .

ok say they are not fertile will the egs foul my tank or will they just be eaten if they will foul the tank how should i proceed to remove them? :dunno:

They'll most likely be eaten , food chain .

cichlids can't store sperm, the eggs get fertilized externally so theres no reason for the females to even touch any sperm.
