Anyone ever heard of an all yellow / lemon Red Devil fry when the other 200+ fry have turned out grey with a black spot (in terms of current colouring), fry are ranging from 1.5cm to 2cm. Cant say exactly how old as i dont have the parents, some points to consider

1. i have this one yellow / lemon coloured one

2. all the rest are as described

3. NO chance of a mix up other end, my friends only breeding fish are Red Devils

4. Possible mix up with my Convict Batch where i am breeding a Blue / Black Convict Male with a Calico Convict Female

What do peeps reckon (SORRY but no pic, its a Cichlid Fry 1.5cm yellow), Red Devil or Convict? I knows its a guess really.....

Any peeps with experience of red-devil fry?????

cheers

Red devil fry start colouring up at about 5cm. This could be a reason why so many are gray colour.
so do you think my yellow-boy might be a convict then? In your experience is it unlikely to be red Devil if it is yellow at 1cm / 1.5cm ?

It could be, but also it could be a male whos started to colour up very early. If i were you id try and seperate the fish and grow it out on its own so if it is a convict (or possibly an albino Red Devil (very possibly that is!! 8) )) it wont get out competed by its 'siblings'.
