Red Claw Crabs

weve had 2 of these for about a week now ,all happy and healthy ,this morning we found the larger one on the living room floor !! how it escaped i dont know luckily it survived .Has anyone had experinced this aswell ??

Have you got holes next to the lid for your wires?

Crabs need to be in tightly sealed tanks, if you do have holes, they tend to crawl up your wires from your heater / filter and through the gaps

Red Claw Crabs are land crabs that will travel miles over land each night and therefore require a large dry area for them to explore, if they are kept in a full tank, they will have no trouble at all climbing out, (usually up the heater cable) and running off to explore.

They are also actually brackish so benefit from some salt

thanks for the replies ,yes looks like he got through the holes by the wires little swine Weve a smaller tank i think we will have set this up for the crabs .
