I love the ray! :good:
How big is the tank? Do you keep them all in the same one?

ah now i have seen the pics of your new ray she/he is very very skinney

what were they feeding in the shop i find shops are very lazy and just feed what they have

get some river shrimp once per week and offer frozen prawn for the rest of the week i would feed river shrimp every day for 2 weeks to put some bulk back on the ray before you start to try to get it onto dead food

it could take 1-2 months to get the ray back into good shape

they were feeding bloodworm mostly.since ive had her she aint stopped eating shrimp and earthworms.is it possible to overfeed?

not possable to over feed a growing ray keep feeding until they wont feed any more then remove the left over food

my 3 rays can eat £15 worth of river shrimp in less than 15 mins and are still lokking for food
:D

i know its hassle getting shrimp every day but it should only be for 2 weeks max then you can start to offer frozen prawn ever day and remove whats not eatern within 20 mins but make sure you feed the river shrimp at least once per week until the ray is feeding well on prawn mussel cockle or crab sticks

their is not enought in the blood worm to put on body mass

you could try defrosting the bood worm and letting the prawn soack up the blood worm over night it should trick the ray into eatting the prawn

if you have earth worms do the same cut them up and let the blood sock into the prawn over night

is there any species of ray that could live out its life in a tank with a 6x2 foot print??

p.scobina is about the only ray that will fit in that tank for life you may get away with a hystrix for about 2-3 years

are p.scobina hard to get hold of?

they really are amazing fish.

yes in the uk they are

rays are not that hard to take care of as long as your tank is big enought and you know how to take care of the water properly and double the size of your current filteration

they reason most people fail with rays is the rays that are fresh imports and in realy bad condition if you buy a long term captive from a private seller who has done all the hard work for you like getting it feeding well then rays are a walk in the park

omg £15 worth of shrimp in 15 minutes thats a healthy appetite  my lfs hold on to 100 river shrimp for me every week so she will be well fed

i have been measuring up this afternoon as it happens and the length will be 7 foot and the width roughly 2.5

7ft is a good lenght 2.5ft is 30inch if you can try to fit a 32inch wide tank in thats what i have and the 2inch make a big diffrence no matter what the girls say

i didnt have enought space for a 3ft wide tank so i went 32inch

i cant do 3ft wide either but i could manage 2"more width :) could i keep 2 rays in a 7x32"?i originally wanted 8x3 but it wont fit :( did you make your own stand for your BIG tank?
