One of my friends may be setting up their first tropical tank in the near future, so I'm trying to help them out a bit. I'm looking for a heater I could reccommend to them for a small 14L tank (I'm thinking 25W? The plan is a male betta btw), as cheap as possible but quality. I wouldn't want them buying a cheap heater that isn't reliable.

Around the £10 mark is preferable if anyone could suggest anything.

I've seen a pre-set one from Ark Pets on eBay for just under £8, but I've heard bad things about pre-set heaters. Anyone got them?

Thanks :good:

I would suggest a Visitherm 25 watt. Had one of these on a 20 litre setup. The temperature is adjustable and the scale on the one we have is accurate to within a degree fahrenheit.

Thanks for the reply. I saw this one, but when I clicked the link I found it was the EcoTherm instead which was preset. I'll have another look around.

I have the visitherm 25w in my 25 litre betta's tank. I also have a sera 25w heater in my other 25 litre (in theory that's my quarantine tank, but it currently has some apisto fry in there). Both heaters are adjustable, and perhaps more importantly for the proposed 14 litre tank, they are very short.
