Recommended Heaters?

I was outbid on my vistitherm heater, does anyone know of any decent heaters (preferably cheaper - under 20) and do i need a heater cover?

Have you considered the Rena Smart Heater? Depending on the size, it could just be within your budget. It is unbreakable and not hot to the touch even when heating (if that makes sense!), so avoiding the need for a cover.

Wheter you need a cover or not probably depends on the fish you have. Some like to hid behind the heater and can get burned. Usually it's not a problem though. I don't have covers on mine.

Rena smart heater seem great.

I personally like Eheim Jagers, since they are a little more discreet IMO and are practically as tough.

I wouldn't bother with heater cover, sometimes they are needed though, particularly with Synodontis, plecs or sometimes I've heard of knifefish being burnt.

Don't worry above it too much.
