i'm perfectly happy with little fish. my lemon and pristella tetras are my favourite fish but i have a LOT of room in my tank and it seems kind of empty even though there's about 20 odd little ones in there including mollies, danios, 2 rtbs, 2 gourami etc, those kind.... it's planted with sand and rocks....recommend something a little larger and noticeable please. obviously something that won't snack on the little guys if possible.

The perfect fish you can put in their is 6 to 10 long finned black tetras they get big not counting thier fins. And somebody stop me if I'm worng you might be able to put silver dollars in their, once again somebody please tell this person different if I'm wrong about the silver dollars.

no angel fish, never did like em'. never liked bettas either.
i'm trying to search and see if electric yellow labs will be acceptable.

a bala shark would be great or maybe an angelfish.
Bala sharks need to be kept in groups and will outgrow a 75 gallon.
An angel fish will snack on the smaller tetras.

Silver dollars will eat plants, so if you have live plants it won't work.
With the tetras, do you have atleast 6 of each? In that big of tank I would, IMO, have atleast 10 of each. Easier to spot them that way.
Sorry that I'm not staying on topic so far...just one more question. RTBs should be kept 1 per tank as they are aggressive towards each other, have you noticed any aggression between them? If so you might want to rehome one, or atleast think about doing that in the near future.
A have no clue about the yellow labs...but I thought they were an african cichlid and should be kept in a species tank? Thats what I thought anyways.
Can't think of what you could add...maybe gaint danios? Gouramis (depending on what kind you have) get pretty big in the first place, so you'll probably want something larger then those if your looking into adding a centerpeice fsih.

Unless the tetras are really small, the cichlid MIGHT not mind. You never know. Usually a fish that small wony seem like a threat. But fish have weird minds. You never can know. :dunno:

Boesemi Rainbow Fish are very pretty. I've read that they can get between 3-5 inches. Also seem to be quite docile.

What about some dwarf cichlids? With tetras you are limited with the larger fish you can put with them. But some fish between 2 and 4 or 5 inchs could work maybe. Maybe some groups of small cichlids, Kribensis or maybe some Rams?

Yellow labs aren't good community fish at all, I'm afraid.

Which fish exactly do you have in the tank and in what numbers?

I agree with stearing clear with the yellow labs, far too agressive and better left to a community with similar African cichlids who are able to stand up to them.

A pair of bristlenose catfish would be a nice addition to the tank, as would a few glass catfish perhaps (stick with a group of these though and they will shoal). Someone else mentioned gouramis which I would second. Another person mentioned small cichlids like kribs or rams. This is also a good choice and something like a trio of cockatoo cichlids would add alot of colour and personality to the tank.

Alot of these suggestions are probably a little too small for what you are after though. In terms of a larger fish who wouldn't harrass your smaller fish you could perhaps add something like a severum? We own a big one that is kept with fish as small as cherry barbs and have never had a problem with her. Severums tend to have smaller mouths than most fish their size and are usually pretty placid for a cichlid unless paired up and breeding.

How about Congo tetras?

Or else maybe some woodcats?

You could try some of the smaller climbing perches. Depends on how big you want (and how big all the tank mates are).

i'm currently stocked with the following...

6 lemon tetras
6 pristella tetras
6 neon tetras
4 albino cherry barbs
6 cherry barbs
6 leopard danios
6 mollies
1 rtbs
2 kuhlie loaches
1 bristlenose
2 adf
4 ottos
2 dwarf gourami

I appreciate the suggestions so far! thanks

anything too big will snack on the tetras at some point probably... silver dollars could work if you don't have plants.
