Hi All

Please could someone recommend a decent easy to use plant fert for me to use, im new to live plants and have to say im struggling ive been trying amazon swords but slowly the leaves are turning brown i have them in pots burried in sand im currently feeding 30mls of " i love fish plant fert " from pets at home per week into 180 litres.

note: they are producing nice long white roots but the leaves dont seem to be doing so well.

thanks in advance.

Swords will melt mate as they are grown immersed, also a good idea to remover from the pots as it will get tangled and stunt growth. A good low tech fert for low light is Neutro T from aqua essentials. :)

Hi

Thanks for the reply

So when you say melt away do you mean die off so really its not worth having them or can you revive them?

Live plants are a nightmare think i may end up going back to plastic

The old leaves die off and are replaced by new leaves, which will go from strength to strength. Takes a while but worth it, they're great plants.

Personally I use dry fertilisers from fluidsensor online as I get good price and control, but it is more work.

so as the leaves die off should i be cutting these back and if so where abouts at the stems base?, just under the leaf?

Thanks in advance
