So today I was doing a WC when I decided to do a little aquascaping nothing major just took some plants and ornaments away to free up some space as some of my fish are starting to gain some size....

here is before

here is the tank now:

I've decided to take the mushroom ornament out to make the tank look more natural, I'm also in the look out for a very large piece of driftwood that would have root like features, I actually saw a malaysian wood in one of the LFS near my area but it's selling for $70 + tax so I have to save a few bucks for now, hopefully it will still be there when I have the money. I'm planning on putting it on the right side and take the big rocks out. right now my tank looks a lot spacier....lol.....what do you guys think????

I like them both :) The top one looks more complete to me but I like the space in the second, I think you need a plant or something to cover the filter pipe on the left. Love the way your rottie is just poking out the tangle haha!

I really wish you could get aquatic fungi that was fish safe lol cos that looks awesome but I dont really like plastic stuff so a bit put off it now I know its not real. It would be pretty cool though...

thanks for the comments.....the first pic i like as well, but it's always in the back of my head that the mushroom is unrealistic...lol, I really prefer the natural looks, i'm not also a big fan of plastic plants until big al's starts selling the ones i have there now....I'm also thinking of doing a SA biotope, but I don't wanna get rid of my clown loaches. At this point i'm thinking about getting another tank...lol....I used to have multiple tanks before I moved now i'm thinking of having a big collection again...

I like the second one better. I would look for some drift wood, also. I don't know about where you could pick some up, but I would look for a large piece or two of mopani (sp?) wood. I have seen them at about 20" or so, so a couple of those would be adequate.

the thing with mopani is that it's a different shade of brown(lither) I like the color of malaysian wood and how it is not bouyant, it sinks right away....I actually found a very large piece but it's going for $70+ tax and I don't have the money right now....
