Hi all, i have researched loads, and found conflicting evidence. Some sources say if you overfeed on BabyBrineShrimp it will cause Swim Bladder problems, whereas if you overfeed on MicroWorms, female bettas get long fins.

Now, i dont know what to believe, so i want peoples experiences. I have no problem starting microworm cultures, vinegar eel, and will try green water too.

I dont want to hatch BBS everyday, as i will have all the fry cleaning up to do. And i also read if they accidently eat the egg shells they could die from poisening

So my current food list is:
Ifusoria (apple snail waste)
Green Water
Vinegar Eel
Microworms
Egg Yolk (will be strict with cleaning)
Grated bloodworm
--when older--
flake/pellets
live food

I might get the odd BBS from P@H, seen as my LFS has decided to close.

Is that ok, me not hatching my own BBS. Because, once again, I HAVE READ that some people dont use BBS.

Any help is appreciated. :)

yh that sounds fine. feed egg yolk and vinger eel first coz there the smallet and then the microworm :D i would put a aqpple snail in the tank after the eggs hve hatched and he will eat all the uneaten food :D

I still need to buy the female (hopefully off pippoodle) Will spawn them in December sometime.
It will most likely be Spikey(sd/DT Geno) or Sparkle (SD/HM) :)

thats good. are you spawning them soon then?
i would love to spawn them but just need to get money and convince my mum but that wont be to hard coz she loves all the once i have :D

Good luck :good: I really dont enjoy the BBS hatching thing, so have been looking at other options.

I've successfully raised my cory fry on Hikari First Bites, so I will be trying this when I attempt my next spawning.

I've also been reading about Golden Pearl Crumb, you can see it here :www.ta-aquaculture.co.uk (look at the GP Diets tab on the left) as it is said to mimic the behavoir of BBS in the water.
