S.), and provided that the seller guarantees in the listing that the animals will be packaged safely, and shipped via next day delivery.

OK, so the rules seem to differ between the UK and the US - but in the UK seeing as there is a section specifically for live fish etc. I would have to understand it as such that it's legal.

i find it amazing that snails and fish are the exception to "no live animals or pets" ... they are alive, animals, and pets...so what makes them any different? 
good to know that you need a permit, though, if you're shipping out of state - although i'm sure nobody follows those rules, but someday you could get caught
