Really Fat Platy

last night when i was feeding my variatus platys, i noticed that Silver was looking really fat (as in, almost ready to give birth) but it was only 6 days after she gave birth & ate all the fry / aborted i dont know whats happening. this morning she was almost normal again but a little fatter than normal. is she ok??? i dont test but i do 25% water changes once a week and have been dosing interpet anti-hair algae (which has done absolutely nothing). i have salt that i could add but as v. platys are temperate i leave the tank at room temperature. any ideas???

you should test your water to be honest. sometimes its an early indicator of problems. id just observe her over the next couple of days she might give birth to more fry!

I probably say its normal like after a few days my guppy gave birth and was doing abortion on the fry its stomach looked the same as it was when it was going to give birth

well i think shes slimmed back to normal again now so thats good. i hope i get some more fry soon my current fry looks really lonely how big should i let him grow to before he is released into the main tank???

Long as its bigger than the largest fishes mouth it should be fine is the advice I've had in the past.
