I've had a Chromide Cichlid in my community tank for at least 3 months now. I got two originally, but one sadly died a few weeks later. When I bought them, the LFS said they will be fine in my tank.

He seemed quite a peaceful community fish until recently, I saw some Chromides in another shop and bought one to partner him. Once I put the other Chromide in the tank, he was instantly menaced constantly. The new one spent most of his time hiding behind my filter hose at the top of the tank and the one I originally had spent his time relentlessly seeking him out. A few weeks later I decided enough is enough and gave the new one to my friend for a peaceful life, leaving the old on in my tank. I suppose its like living in a hall with a psycopath who wants to beat you up all day.

However, as soon as I took the other Chromide out, he took a dislike to my orange molly which now does the same, hides behind the filter hose. My Albino Kribs also get the same treatment.

Is it something to do with their colour?

I've put the naughty one in solitary confinement for the timebeing. What should I do with him?!

If anyone wants a naughty Chromide, please let me know! I'm based in Essex, UK.

Through experiance you always end up with one in the tank. Its prob why its attacking everything thats similar colour.
