Real Quick Ph Question

I have the API standard (not a high range kit) pH test kit and it tests up to 7.6. My tank water comes out at 7.6 every time and the test is as blue as it can get. Should I get a high range test kit to make sure my pH isn't higher than 7.6? Waste of money?

Haven't tested dechlorinated tap water yet but there's nothing in my tank that would raise or lower the pH, although I know it can drop slowly over time.

would a high pH be why it's always a bit tough-and-go with plants? Thanks for the reply matty, I'll stop by my LFS Tuesday morning I think

I'm no plant expert but I think a plants maximum tolerant pH is about 8.0

The test kit goes up to 8.8

I have a ph of 7 in my tanks except my Shrimp tank, the Fluval stratum brings it down to 6.8

I use Eco Complete - any known pH irregularities in tanks with this stuff that you know of?
