Hi my Tanks Cycled and my Holidays over ! so I`m ready for fish finally, I`ve had a breeder/supplier recommended to me which is 25mins from my house which seems handy I`ve had a look at the list and my first thoughts are : -

1m2f Ratios
ELONGATUS "MPANGA"
LABIDOCHROMIS CAERULEUS

Just those maybe to start with (6) as I`m new. Similar stocking to Tanks a Lot.

Although I`ve seen these as well:-

CYNOTILAPIA AFRA "COBUE"
PSEUDOTROPHEUS ACEI "NGARA"

The only concern with the Afra is it`s similar colouring to the Mpanga. ?

My Tank is 4ft 264litres/70 US Gallons and has a Sand Substrate with lots of Rocks (see sig)
I`d just like a few opinions from the experts please.

Nick

After your pm this morning I was looking at the list again. I didn't look at the ANCISTRUS SP that they had before I replied to you. That albino one is weird looking but the normal bristlenose catfish look cool. Maybe something you can look into in the future.

In addition to saying that I like your fish list. I have to say that the prices that the seller is offering seem very reasonable, I payed about four times their asking price for my mpanga!

the afra are nicer than the mpanga, but its a nice choice of fish you have there :good:

Thanks for the replys.
Do you think I`d get away with both the Afras Cobue and the Mpangas though ?
Tanks - I might have to get a Bristlenose even though they are ugly and maybe those Synodontis eupterus that Brewyn I think has (featherfin catfish) as possible Tank mates I`ll look into that after the first Cichlids go in.

you could get away with both nick, cant see any reason why not!!!! I have a pleck in my tank and he does a grand job, not so bad looking neither. If you want some feather fins, I want to part with my 3, FREE!!!!! I think they have eaten my petricola as can only see 2 out of the 10.

here's my pleck, but he's not a bristlenose!!!!

maylandia hajomaylandi

maylandia zebra gold (mundole reef)

or the tropheops chilumba

all very nice cichlids, more unusual, and peacefull!!!!!

Look interesting Brewyn but I can`t find a lot of info at the moment and I wouldn`t have a clue where to find them to buy.
