Re-seeding Filter

I've just cleaned up my spare internal filter with boiling water(kill the nasties as its going into a fry tank) and need to know.....

How long will the filter take to matue in a 4ft well stocked tank(been running about 5 months), its running with the spray bar and looks really cool as its moving the plants like they are in a stream.
as soon as it is mature im going to start a breeding project.

I would say 1 month at least.

how about if i took some media from the 305 and put it in... say half the internal pad is that like cloaning the tank?

Yes, that will definitely cut down on the cycling time/cloning time.
