Re-Scaping My Juwel Rekord 600

I have decided that my project for this summer is to re scape my tank, after four years I am a bit bored of the layout and my sand just will not clean any more and the level of pest snails is unbelievable so i think no is as good as time as any to start over.
I am going to keep all my fish so stocking is the issue, if anyone has any ideas on where to start and/or any photographs of their tanks of a similar size (60ltr) it would be much appreciated, later ill post a picture of my tank as it is now.
Also does anyone have any tips on cleaning a 3D background.

Any pics? What's your lighting like? Co2 / ferts?
