Heya,
I have an echindorous? plant and it came in a small pot. Unfortunately the roots are coming out of the pot and i feel mean keeping it in such a confined space. I want to keep it in a pot, for ease and was wondering how to repot it? Hehe- sound a silly question.

Thanks

I use a small plastic container and put some gravel in the bottom. Then a thin layer of lawn fertiliser. Then I cover the lawn fertiliser with a thin layer of Laterite (red clay). Then some more gravel on top of the laterite. The plant gets planted in the top layer of gravel.
The gravel and laterite stops the lawn fertiliser from leaching into the water. The laterite and fertiliser provide the nutrients for the plant when its roots grow into them.

You can also plant them in straight gravel if you like but they will need some aquarium fertiliser to keep them growing well :)
