Hi

I am Branwyn. I am starting up 2 new tanks (55G ea). I used to keep fish many moons ago but 6 years ago I lost my sight completely and had to give them up. it was the one thing I severely regretted but now I feel I am able to re-gain my passion but also means learning again completely from scratch as everything i do now is done a different way. this site was recommended to me by others so i hope to learn lots and also get great advice from you pros.

Sorry about ur sight the one mistake people always make is overstocking when they buy livebearers and overstocking when purchasing fish also make sure u don't overfeed

What are u gonna have in the 55 gallons I reccomed lots of small schooling tropical fish of different colors shapes and sizes to create a beautiful look to the aquarium and I would also recommend live plants and driftwood to create a natural landscape

Hope I helped

Thanks. for the past month all I have done is research research research. I have also done everything "backwards" if thats the correct term. I have already decided on what fish I want and with help from a pro the numbers for the sized tank. I am only going to have 5 silver dollars with corys in the bottom. then I have sat down working out what aquascape is best for them. sand for the corys to turn and burrow, also i have made coconut caves the past few weeks for the corys and been soaking my wood the past 2 weeks. also choosing suitable plastic plants as live plants and silver dollars do not mix. then i have also had to work out what is best for me and easy to clean etc also i know from my past how much to feed them and varied diet but as you say it is something thats so easy over looked and also good to be reminded off :good:

No the tanks only arrived yesterday . one is unpacked and the other will be tomorrow. I have had to order some camping mats to go under the tanks which are going to take a few days to arrive before I can add water etc. as everything is brand new it will going to be a good while until any fish get to swim as I need to fully mature the tanks etc and do a complete fishless cycle

I think I am. I will post a picture up once the tnks are up and running. i am doing a simple aquascape but will post a picture once up and running for input and advice if i need to change anything before the cycle has completed.

Thanks. just trying to find a post etc for a fishless cycle and readings etc I would need to follow when testing

do you have a link for the post? I am having trouble locating a fishless cycle schedule or test reading guide x
