Re-decorating/stocking 120 Gallon

Large rocks or wood, as well as large ceramic pots kept in place by rocks so they won't roll, would make for sturdy decor ;) Live or plastic plants or anything light is going to get uprooted/moved around.

About the bumblebee catfish, ignore the genus/sceintific names of these fish as there are several synonyms but here are some mroe pics from planet catfish:

Those may be useful for identifying yours :) there are some other species that look similar and/or are sometimes labelled 'bumblebee catfish' but they are less common. Post a pic in teh catfish section if you're still not sure.

BTW, the food you are feedin now is fine as long as the other fish are getting their share as well and I think moving the bulldog plec out is also a good idea.

Sidenote: Post oscar stuff in the New World cichlids section in future :)

It looks exactly like the one in the second link you posted. The other fish are getting enough food. The oscar usually gets scared of the other fish when they come to eat the flakes.

Well ok, you'd probably be best off taking that out of the tank as well then as, being a small and peaceful fish, your oscar would probably cause it quite a bit of unecessary stress as well.

HI I recently lost my Oscar. But while I had him, he was in with a Sailfin Pleco, 8 cory catfish, and a Jack Dempsey. The Oscar and Dempsey where added at the same time, about the same size. Everything else had been in the tank for around five years. The Oscar and Dempsey battled a bit in the begining before picking their sides of the tank. After that the Pleco would pick on the Oscar every once in a while, otherwise was a supprisingly peacful tank. Not to say it was a proper setup in anyway, just that it worked out for me. My Oscar was in the tank for a little over two years and was about 11 inches long when he suddenly died.

I have in the tank a large Terra Cotta pot cave for the Pleco, which the Oscar would peak thru the little hole in the top of to look at the Pleco super cute. Large Slate rock to form a cave for the Dempsey, and Three chunks of Bogwood. I tried live plants which where shredded as soon as the lights went out, and plastic which had chunks ripped out of them, and led to the Oscar hurting himself with all his thrashing around. So in my opinion stay away from plants. But if you really want them add them now while he is a baby.

If you are worried about the rock getting moved and breaking things just pick some really heavy rock.

OOOH 120 gallons your little guy is going to have so much room to swim and play. Sorry such a long topic congrats on your new Oscar.

Thank you so much for your advice. I think I might look around petsmart and other pet stores for larger caves or rocks and just shop around a little.

The terra cotta pots are a good idea too :] Thank you

I'm pretty sure you've already seen this but oh well
