ok this is what my tank used to look like.

so i had a sit down in front and thought about what I could do.
i thought about giving the plants another go, instead of fake ones, and maybe getting rid of my goldie and moor.
so i did...very very reluctantly.
the pair were my favourite fishes of all time. they where my first fish I bred and bred and bred etc and i miss them already.

got a few bits together and now my tank looks like this...

this is my favourite peice!

this is still not finished. i need a few more plants and know exactly which ones im getting.
the wood with the pebble on it wouldn't stay down so thats why the pebble is on it. :fun:

if you're wondering where the fish are, they are at my reliable lfs because i didn't have a holding tank big enough for the angel :( so he took them all in :D
i'm thinking about getting a black knife fish to replace the "center peice" goldie and moor.
does anyone know if they eat neons or whiteclouds? :/

thanks

oh yea, and the java ferns aren't just floating around. they are tied down with cotton. im waiting for them to rooooooooooooooooot! :fun:

haha! :fun: i think too many people have this background. it just makes my tank look bigger and alot brighter.
i was worried the sand would make my water cloudy and brown but nooooooooope! sand is the best! never going back to gravel :hyper:

I thought it was easy to clean before I put it in the tank. I have'nt had chance to clean it whilest its in there because I only put it in there about...well... a few hours ago lol
I don't see why it would be harder to clean than gravel. When I cleaned my gavel, I just stuck my fingers in it and ruffled it up abit. Then I stuck another 3 filters in the water and within 20 mins, water was crystal clear. I should have got a vacuum but there no point now coz the sand will go up it.

I'm not sure how to proper clean sand but I think I will carry on with my idea because it will stop gasses forming underneath it too :fun:

I just thought it may get sucked up into your Gravel Vac when you cleaned the tank. I didn't realize you had only just put the sand in the tank , the water looks nice and clear already.
