Hello

I have a 72L tank and i'm starting to get into plants, im still learning. I kinda forgot to put in laterite on the gravel the first time round (i presume the only way to do this is with no water in tank?). Also i'm starting to fight back at my algae problem and i would like to get rid off it all. So when i get round to doing a 100% water change i will need to put the fish somewhere.

I have:

6 Lemon Tetras
6 Harlquins
2 Cories

What size tank will be good for the fish to go in temporaly? Oh and what should i do with the plants, i could just put them on newspaper, right?

Depends how long you mean temporaly..
I put my tanks stock (see sig) into a 40l container for 2hrs whilst i changed subtrate and they seemed ok.

Make sure you keep your sponges wet and maybe put an airpump underneath them in the container to keep water flowing through them (thats what i did).

So i'd say a fair sized tub no smaller than 20l..
As for plants, put them in some wet tissue paper.

with just those fish you'd probably find they would be fine in a bucket for a fer hrs. Just put the filter and heater in the bucket (and turn it on obviously ;)) and they shoudl be ok. Its not like you have hundereds.

As for the plants they would be ok anywhere for a few hrs or put them in the bucket too, the fish will perfer that option too :)

I could put them in a water container like the one below. But would i need to put the filter with built in heater in there to? container.JPG

You have a fairly low bio-load so waste won't be an issue and with a decent volume of water the temp. fluctuation will be minimal, so no, don't worry about heating or filtration unless your room is very cold.
