Rare fish

I have just purchased some rare fish on Ebay
So even though I think plecs are ugly, I couldn't resist these.
What do you guys think?

Hi Wolf,

Thery are Lovely, but how he is sending them Via Royal Mail - I don't know as they are not gauranteed Live Delivery, as Royal mail will Not Insure Live Goods.

Royal Mail Have also Said they will not Send Live Fish anyway - So What courier is he Using, So If they arrive Dead - Tough Luck

Just a Friendly Warning, as I have researched sending Live fish and It is very hard to Find a Company that will Courier them.

Do not be fooled, those are just albino forms of the standard bristlenose sold in every lfs Ancisterus temminckii, they are worth no more than about £3 each and are about as rare as grey hairs on my head.

If they actually are 'golden' rather than albino then they are more unusual to find than albinos and a lot more attractive (IMO), but not acually rare.
Swallow aquatics in Colchester has a tank-full of these (which is where we got Mr Bristley and his wife from six months ago.

However, if you paid £15 for two you still got a good price as long as they are goldens and not albinos..

Lovely fish, and very active.

Now if these turn out to be L144, now we're talking rare. L144 is a pale yellow color but has deep blue or black eyes.
L144 is not a colour morph of another species, but is a species in its own right.

When you get them, you had better post pics!
If they are like they say that they are, a very rare find. I know that I, as well as some other ancistrus lovers will be extremly envious of those guys!

iv never been the bigest fan of plecs either, the pic is a little fuzzy, id post pics after it arrives and have someone confirm that it what u bought. but it sounds very cool

I have recieved an email from the seller, saying she cannot
post untill friday next week. Dubious of this I replyed if you can't post them to me on monday I'd like a full and total refund.

I've just recieved the refund, as I'm typing this. Man that was fast.

Oh well nothing ventured nothing gained.

I always thought it was against Ebays rules to sell life animals.

They looked like Albino's to me anyway.

But hay Wolf ya got a refund so as ya say.

I thought so too, but they allow anything that is legally postable to be included. The royal mail will accept fish, snails, stick insects etc.

at least you got a refund wolfie. wouldve been stupid if they arrived and they were albinos not goldens and you wasted 15 bucks on them
