I've had my tank up and running for about 8 or 9 months so far and not had a sniff of any babies, even from my livebearers.
Until about a month ago anyway.
Then one of my platys had some fry out of the blue. Didn't even realise until my wife saw a fry swimming about at midnight.
I then spent the next two hours sorting out my old tank and saving as many babies as I could. About 12 in total.
Two weeks later one of my swordtails had about 23 fry. They're now in the same tank as the platy fry.
Now tonight I'm looking at my tank and one of my platy's and both of my swordtails are looking pregnant and to top it all off my Kribs now seem to be in a cave doing the dirty. She's got her egg tube fully out and everything.
I know that tanks can get different hormones floating about inside them that can cause stunting and various other problems but I didn't realise that they could all get a randiness hormone.
Don't know what I'm gonna do with all the babies though.
