a few days ago the fliter on my marine land eclipse tank broke, and poor jasper was left with out a filter. so i wrote and called marine land and finally i got a responce. after some instructions i did what i was tolk and low and behold the blasted thing works again, better then before. i got to say i am awfully proud of myself at the moment, i managed to fix it not to mention thanks to some quick thinking before (pulling a larger filter from a small tank and taking a small filter back in the large tank) now i have a spare filter again. that may mean another five gallon or just good to have a spare at the moment incase any of the others brake down.
man it feels good to be prepares, and ahead of some desasters.

oh you want to know how to get you fish to give you a dazed and confused look, come home at midnight and turn on your room lights. came home at 12:30 am (thanks to my job) and turned on my room light to get ready for bed, and rayne sort of swam to the front then crashed to the floor of her tank she gave me a look sort of like (what the hell?) jasper who is usally my greeter just kind of gave me a look like 'do you have any idea what time it is missy.' and storm went under his log and went back to sleep. silly fish

as for jasper, his tale managed to shred again, i don;t know how or why this fish does it, but his tail shreds quite often, when i bought him he had a split tail. i treat him with melafix for a little while and his tale gets better, then i stop and the thing shreds again. not sure whats going on, i have never seen him nip it and he is alone in his tank and only has silk plants. any one have any ideas?

he might be a tail biter, my ct spaz is a habitual one, his fins will grow out perfect then over night he chews them off and eats them!
although not a expert, i ''think'' spaz's problem is his huge tail, he is a adult double ray ct and i did notice he has more problems swimming fast then my other normal ray ct male, and it seems as soon as his tail is nice and ful again he bites it off! then goes swimming merrily on his way!!! :shout: crazy fish

We've got a tail chewer......most frustrating thing ever   They heal up and look stunning and then overnight half the caudal gone again   Shame you can get a little head collar like you can for cats and dogs to put on them

i had a cat who did the same thing, he nipped his tail to the point it had to be amputated. he had to ware a cone on his head for a few months while it healed up. but he has never been the same

Awww.....poor little kitty.....but could you imagine a betta wearing one of them

my pink betta tweek will chew his tail to nothing if he is in sight of females but cant get to them to spawn...like in a divided tank. as long as he cant see any girls, he is fine. and his last tail biting has grown back very nicely.
