When my poor little corys died last week I put them in a tiny box (like jewelry comes in) and buried them under my rosemary bush. I left the box on the kitchen counter while changing into digging clothes and my husband came into our room with a funny look on his face....
HIM "do you know you have dead fish in a tiny box?"
ME " yes ... why did you open it?"
HIM " well I wanted to see what was in the cute little box"

I'm a great believer in the body being no more than a biological machine to contain the soul, so when someone (some something) dies, the soul is gone and all that remains is a meat shell.

Because of this, I have no qualms about putting this empty vessel in the bin.

When I die, I would like to be buried without ceremony in woodland with a tree planted over me.

since my mum wont ever allow me to put a fish in the bin again(because my dog toppled over the bin and you could guess what happened next)
i just flush them

I'll admit it.. I've flushed the few that didn't make it through the initial set up stage :*) Luckily there haven't been any deaths in a very long time (quickly knocks on wood  ).

So, DD, what does your mom do with scraps of food when she's cooking?

I'd say the cremating and the burial with a coffin are the most interesting ideas presented. :p
