My male and female have been together for a few days again and now instead of making a nest hes just blowing bubbles and scattering them all over the place.. Some under a leaf another under a cup and just random isolated bubbles..wat does this mean :((

hes still making his mind up i think they should mate under that romantic leaf

Omg literally u were spot on he built a nest under the leaf!!! Nice job betta loverr lol! The female is soooo ready to mate but the male is oblivious and wont even try with her..but i feeling good about this one:)) im excitedd.. The nest isnt that big its maybe an inch wide and a bubble thick but its getting bigger everytime i check on it

is the female out with the male? have you conditioned them for breeding if so on what for how long?

The female has been conditoned for about 3 weeks and the male about 2 1/2 on frozen brine shrimp and daphnia.. Right now the male isnt interested in her but shes ready to go..what shud i do to get him set?

maybe he just doesn't like her, if he's showing no interest now he has no intentions of breeding with her.

Is she loose in the tank or separate?

Shes loose in the tank..they flare at each other then he just leaves..she hasnt even been bitten there is no signs of aggression but the bubble nest is bigger today.. I fed them live platy fry. The platy fry were deformed so i had to dispose them as i hve no room for extra deformed fry im trying to breed these guys :/

the female should not be released, she needs to be gradually introduced in a safe place like a bottle or tub, so they can see each other but not get to each other

She did.. I had her in a visible place for him and he wud flare and dance and go nuts but when i released her the random bubbles started then the nest and now hes not interested.. Im just confussed cause the nest gets bigger and hedoesnt seem interested in her

She was also flaring, previous mating that ive done the male builds the nest when shes released and he took a while so i just released her and he built a nest. He likes to be in the front of the tank so i moved his leaf there and they seem to love it and the nest is getting higher:)

Omg i woke up this morning and the nest was TRIPLE the size of any ve ever seen it takes up half the top of the 10 gal... Its hugee under a leaf and next to the cup and going out into the open.. They r dancing and flating at each other right now.. Hes missig some fins tho im wondering how that happened cause shes really scared of him when he flares
