I have 5 blue rams and i'm trying to at least sex them. they are still fairly small and none of them have really grown in that second ray on the dorsal fin that dictates being male or female. is there any other way to sex rams two out of the five have a pinkish blush looking spot on their belly. does this mean anything?
anything would be helpful.

Uh-oh!

That means i have 3 males and 2 females... This could be a problem.

This is what Fluttermoth wrote in another thread yesterday regarding the same question as yours:

Some females do have slightly longer dorsal fin rays; but she's got quite a pink tummy and a few blue spangles in the black spot, that's more reliable IME.

HTH :)
