Hi, Thanks for all the advice, I will take all 3 back and get one pair, probably European as they are more colorful, I didn't realize they are Territorial, I thought they could live together so Thanks for letting me know. Its the 80 liter they will be in - I have 3 tank at the moment :shifty:

I didn't help/advise in the slightest - just hijacked your thread (sorry again) - but glad you've got it all sorted out.

Good luck :good:

No probs Jen, not exactly sorted as yet, the lfs were supposed to ring and let me know when to take fish back and exchange but didnt bother so am going there tomorrow - fur is gonna fly :shout:

I have one blue ram. He is fine by himself. He did have a wife but harassed her to death, so he has been a widow for a while now and has paired up with my dwarf gourami and they are best of mates (both males).

So they can be kept alone, despite what people say about making sure they are in pairs.

i couldn't agree more they do well on their own if its not getting bullied. if it is getting bullied then adding another one might help it to feel better, seeing another of its own kind. i think they do better in pairs, rather than in groups of threes and fours

Quick update - never got the call from the lfs to take fish back so got up this morning one gold ram dead so bagged them up and delivered to lfs.
Asked for a refund for all 3 which i got, went to another lfs and got a pair of Rams which are fab, they are happily swimming round together, only problem I do have is my new blue platy thinks he is a Ram so I have a bit of a threesome going on
