I rescued some rams from the "charity tank" at Pets At Home today - great idea, they look after unwanted fish until another costumer wants them, then you make a donation to a charity in return for taking the fish!

Anyway, the rams are showing stress bars, how long does it normally take for them to go? They are in a tank with tetras, guppies and corys so all fairly peaceful!

how long does a stressed fish take to get unstressed is what youre asking, theres no way to answer it. all i can say is the quicker the better. if you have given them a nice home it should only take a few hours, the best way to introduce a new fish is with the lights off so they dont feel exposed in there new home!

I agree - lights off for the first day.

Lots of plants and some floating plants will make the Rams feel happy, providing water conditions are suitable.

What kind of Rams are they? If they're Bolivians I think they'll be particularly quick to bounce back.

Not sure if German or Bolivian, have moved them into bigger tank with more plants and all seems well :)
