Rams Been Breeding, What To Do!

Hi i have 2 german blue rams, and they have laid eggs on a large piece of bogwood in my tank.
I have a breeding trap but theres no way that bit of woods going to fit in there, and i have no other tank!
so im just asking if you guys have any advice with what to do??

What colour are they?

What other fish do you have in the tank? Size tank?

Generally speaking rams will take care of their own eggs/fry (not always, depending on if this is their first time), however if they are in a tank with alot of other fish, who may eat the eggs and stress the parents, it can be easier to remove both eggs and parents to a seperate breeding tank.

If you remove the eggs, you will need to 'care' for them as the parents would, but using an air stone under the eggs to recreate the fanning process the parents do themselves.

It depends what you want? Do you want to grow as many fish as possible, or do you want to have happy healthy parents, or do you simply want to know what they would do?

We found a duck's nest + Eggs + Mother Duck outside our front door, just behind a bush. We couldn't do anything to help and left it to nature... A Fox ate all the Eggs that night!

If the little ones hatch then perhaps use the net and move as many as poss and feed some live foods etc, as recc in many threads. I think Rams are pretty good parents though.

What other fish do you have in the tank, any proven egg/fry eaters?

It is a 90ltr tank, it has 4 mollies, a pearl gourami, and 4 corys, oh and a fan shrimp

I havent got a seperate tank to put them in so thats out of the question, i really would like to try and keep some of them, if i get to them soon enough ill catch them and put them in the breeding tank, what im worried about is not catching them in time, and the mollies having a field day!

Will the rams be able to care for them?
i am tempted to try cut that bit of wood off, but i dont think its feasible whilst in the water.

Haha yes i totally agree, its not a great idea AT ALL!!
i just really wnat baby rams, plus i can always sell them if they grow up! any moneys always great!

That made me laugh, it sounds like something I would do, seems like a good idea, then half way through when all is going wrong, you think 'what the hell am I doing?'

Do you have anything you could use as a divider in the tank? If you dont have an extra tank for them, a divider might help to avoid them becoming Molly food

no unfortunatley i havent got any sort of divider, wish id have thought of that an hour ago when i was at my LFS!

i dont think i have anything to hand safe enough to put in with the fish, apart from laminated a4 paper!! and i dont think that would be large enough for a start!
