Hey I've got my 55 gallon tank with only 1 pleco in it right now and I wanted to know, What will go better with a school of 15-20 neons and 15-20 harlequins? Blue rams are stunning, but pricey, Bala sharks are awsome and alot cheaper (though they get bigger) and silver dollars are tiny and cute and only get to about 6"... Which one would be best for my 55gallon tank??? I love all 3 of them, I've done alot of research and I'm leaning towards the bala sharks... but I'm still not certain...

No bala sharks they need to be kept in groups and a 55 gallon tank is abit on the small side for them.

ok so no balas... Thanks! What about the silver dollars?? I want it to look as nice as I can get it, without spending loads of money :p I might also add some guppies (3 males, 9 females) would that be good? I'm aware that the babys will be eaten but oh well... it's nicely planted so some may survive

I've got plenty of info on silver dollars... but which would be better? Silver dollars or Rams?

Hi Fishkrazy1,

Go for Ram fish I have been keeping diffirent kind of fishes for past 10yrs but still find Holland/Gold/Balloon/blue Rams still the best. And they are friendly fishes. :good:

I'd go for rams

wouldn't SD's be likely to munch on your tetra's and rasboras???? not kept them myself so i may well be wrong, always kind of thought they should be kept with bigger fish.
