Hideeho :fun:

I'm getting interested in keeping fish other than African cichlids so I'm starting a small South American freshwater tank (havent had one of those in a long time) and was wondering if a pair of Bolivian Rams would be ok together with a school of Black Neon Tetras?

Any opinions/suggestions? Thanks!

I'm not sure about bolivian rams and black tetras, but my german blue rams do fine with my neon tetras if that helps any. :dunno:

Cool --- How big is your tank? How many neons and rams do you have?
My tank is a 29 gallon. I had two male german blue rams (they told me they were male and female  ) and I had 6 neons. I've never even see them pay attention to each other. :p

EDIT: What size tank will yours be?

It depends what I end up going with ..... I really like Rams and Tetras.... I'm also considering some more unusual freshwater species... most likely I'll upgrade my African cichlids to a 125 or bigger by this summer and use one of the 55's for a freshwater. It's nice having room for tanks. ;)

Another ditto to the German Blues and Neon Tetras...so I also would think that Bolivians and Black Neons would be fine

I have a pair of Bolivian Rams and 6 or 7 neon tetra's. The Rams don't bother the neons at all, but it was a little sketchy at first when the neons were real small

Yer go for it, I got 9 1cm cardinals with my big male and female rams. First I was a bit uneasy about it, but they're great. So I'm guessing any type of Tetra would be fine

Terrific -- thanks for the help everyone --- I'll be sure to post the pics when it's set up. Right now--literally-- I'm setting up a 55 gallon for about 100 Auloncara rubescens and Placidochromis phenocilus babies! Wooohooooo!
